Model: Archer BE450
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.1.9 Build 20251218 rel.56290(4555)

Hi,

I have a BE450 router, and 4 XE75's and 3 M5's.

What is the best way to create a mesh with this network equipment?
If I understand it right, the mesh units cannot make use of the BE450 EasyMesh technology?

Is the best practice to simply create a local mesh with a XE75 as main unit and the others as satellites, and not utilize the EasyMesh?
One of the M5's is connected through a backhaul network, since it is in another building, but works fine.

I do have dropouts though, suddenly the whole XE75 mesh WiFi is disconnected from Internet while the local wifi in the BE450 still is connected. It can take hours to get back online again, despite rebooting devices.

Thanks in advance!

/Mikael

Hello @PolarBear64 ,

Welcome to our community.

Regarding EasyMesh Compatibility:
You're correct in your understanding. The XE75 and M5 are Deco mesh products that use TP-Link's proprietary Deco mesh technology, which is separate from EasyMesh. EasyMesh is a standardized Wi-Fi Mesh technology that allows compatible devices to work together, and you can find the router models that support EasyMesh here: https://www.tp-link.com/easymesh/product-list/

The Deco series (including XE75 and M5) operates on its own mesh system and cannot be integrated into an EasyMesh network with the BE450 router.

Recommended Setup Method:
1. Use the BE450 router as your main router and internet gateway
2. Set up your Deco units (XE75s and M5s) as a separate Deco mesh network, with one XE75 as the main Deco unit connected to the BE450
3. The Deco mesh will handle WiFi coverage throughout your space, while the BE450 manages your internet connection

This setup allows you to leverage the strengths of both systems • the BE450's routing capabilities and the Deco mesh's seamless coverage.
