Unable to use these mesh wifi boosters. 

Set them up with the ethernet cable attached and they work perfectly. Take them to another part of the house and, the red light comes on moments after switching on. 

There is no way I can have an ethernet cable running to all three boosters, it's not going to happen.

Main Deco must stay connected with Ethernet cable, this is by design.

 

Place both Satellite Deco in the same room as Main Deco, but do not connect Satellite Decos with Ethernet cable. See if they can establish WiFi link to Main Deco (they should). If they do, you have working Deco mesh.

Move one of Satellite Deco away from Main Deco, but not very far. See if it can establish link to Main Deco. Keep moving Satellite Deco until it can't. This will be the place too far for WiFi signal from Main Deco to reach Satellite Deco. The optimal position of Satellite Deco will be half way to that point.
