Trying to delete a service filtering rule and am getting: Error code: 4716 The entry in use cannot be deleted.

 

Is there a solution to this?

You may try the following:

 

  • Disable the Rule First: Locate the rule you want to delete and toggle its "Enabled" switch to off. Save the settings, then try deleting the entry.
  • Remove Device Ties: If the rule is assigned to a specific device (like a phone or PC), go to the connected devices list, remove the device from that specific profile, and save.

 

If that's not helping, use this post or this post suggestion.

How can I fix Error Code 4716 on the Archer VR1600v when trying to delete a service filtering rule that says “The entry in use cannot be deleted”?

There is no way to disable or enable the rule. It's permanently disabled. Can't save any modifications either

I really can't help more on this issue. If your VR1600v has been provided by your ISP, call them and ask for assistance, since this model is not supported by the community.

Thanks. I replaced this piece of junk with asus router and everything is working properly now.
