Hi,

I bought this Archer BE220 recently and it works very well, except that the wifi multicast seems not working as expected.

I have some smart-home devices of ECHONET, but found that they cannot discover each other after joining the same wifi-lan.

ECHONET is a communication protocol designed to create the “smart homes” and they discover each other within the same group by sending and receiving some data which I think are via wifi multicast.

The group address is 224.0.23.0

BTW, the same devices can work with another router: Buffalo WXR-5700AX7S, so I think this might be just the wrong settings.

The setting page info of [Advanced]--[Network]--[IPTV/VLAN]

IGMP:

IGMP Proxy: Enabled

IGMP Snooping: Enabled

IGMP Version: V2

Wireless Multicast Forwarding: Enabled

What can I do to enable wifi multicast and make ECHONET devices work?

Thanks

Hello @Y_L ,

Welcome to our community.

Have you compared the configuration differences between the new router and the old one? This includes both wireless settings and advanced feature settings.

Please try the following suggestions:
1. Disable "Wireless Multicast Forwarding," then restart and test.
2. Check to ensure that "AP Isolation" (or "Client Isolation") is disabled.
3. Try connecting your smart home devices to a dedicated 2.4GHz SSID, like 2.4GHz Guest Network.

Best Regards.
