I would like to request several features for the Deco BE65-5G that would significantly improve its flexibility and suitability for advanced home networking environments.

1. Cellular Bridge Mode

Please add a dedicated cellular bridge/pass-through mode that allows the 5G connection to be handed directly to a downstream router without performing NAT or routing functions.

Importance:

• Eliminates double NAT issues.
• Allows users to utilize advanced third-party routers and firewalls.
• Improves compatibility with VPNs, gaming, and enterprise networking setups.
• Provides greater flexibility for power users while retaining the excellent 5G modem performance of the BE65-5G.

2. Per-Client Speed Limit (Bandwidth Control)

Please add the ability to set upload and download speed limits for individual client devices.

Importance:

• Prevents a single device from consuming excessive bandwidth.
• Improves fairness across household users.
• Particularly useful on variable-speed 5G connections where bandwidth may fluctuate.
• Helps maintain low latency for gaming, video calls, and other real-time applications.

3. DNS over HTTPS (DoH) and DNS over TLS (DoT)

Please add native support for encrypted DNS protocols such as DNS over HTTPS and DNS over TLS.

Importance:

• Improves privacy by preventing DNS queries from being exposed to ISPs and network intermediaries.
• Enhances security against DNS manipulation and spoofing.
• Allows users to easily use privacy-focused DNS providers such as Quad9, Cloudflare, and NextDNS.

4. WireGuard VPN Support

Please add WireGuard support for both VPN Client and VPN Server modes.

Importance:

• Provides faster VPN performance compared to traditional VPN protocols.
• Reduces CPU overhead and latency.
• Enables secure remote access to home networks.
• Allows users to route selected devices through commercial VPN services efficiently.

The Deco BE65-5G is already an excellent Wi-Fi 7 and 5G gateway. Adding these features would make it one of the most capable and competitive 5G home networking solutions on the market, appealing to both regular users and networking enthusiasts.
