Subject: Archer AX53 - OpenVPN Stuck on "Connecting" with Kaspersky VPN Config
Hello everyone,
I recently upgraded my network setup from a TP-Link Archer C60 to a new Archer AX53. The C60 was a great device and worked perfectly for what I needed, especially with IP isolation. However, I decided to upgrade to the AX53 specifically because I needed a router that could handle a VPN client connection natively at the router level.
Unfortunately, the setup is not working as expected. I am trying to configure the router as a VPN client using Kaspersky's OpenVPN configuration files. Every time I upload the profile and try to connect, the status gets completely stuck on "Connecting" (or loading) and never actually establishes a connection.
I know the hardware is capable, but it seems like there is a compatibility issue between the configuration files provided by Kaspersky and the TP-Link firmware, almost as if the files don't strictly adhere to standard OpenVPN protocols that the router expects. To make matters worse, alternative protocols like WireGuard aren't an option right now due to recent changes on the provider's end.
Has anyone else experienced this specific issue with the Archer AX53 and Kaspersky OpenVPN? Are there any specific modifications needed in the .ovpn file commands to make it compatible with TP-Link's firmware, or is this a known limitation with recent updates?
Any insights or workarounds would be greatly appreciated.
