Hello,

 

I changed my admin password to make it more secure by adding some special characters like £

 

but when I wanted to change it again, I got the following error message:

 

Error code 84601: The old password must be in ASCII character format

 

Why did it let me change my password into something it now won't accept?

 

Is there any solution to this problem that does not involve me having to factory reset the router?

Hi,

 

Have you already tried via both available user interfaces?

 

Like, if it's the web UI that doesn't allow you to enter a £, then try instead via the Aginet app or, vice versa, if it's the Aginet app that doesn't allow you to enter a £, then try the web UI instead.

Hello Woozle, thank you for your reply.

 

I first tried with the web UI which didn't like the £

 

But the Aginet app did work! It has let me change the password again. I decided not to use the £ in my new password.
