Feature Request:
The Archer BE800 includes a 10Gbps SFP+/RJ45 combo WAN/LAN port. For users who connect fiber modules, ONU devices, or other SFP+ equipment to this port, it would be very helpful if the router’s web interface could display basic, read-only transceiver diagnostics for supported modules.

 

Why this would be useful:
At the moment, the BE800 provides very limited visibility into the connected SFP+ device. In practice, this makes troubleshooting much harder when there are connection issues, unstable links, overheating modules, weak optical levels, or suspected hardware-related problems. A small diagnostics page would make it much easier to determine whether the issue is related to the module, the fiber path, the connected device, or the router itself.

 

Requested information:
For supported modules, please show read-only information such as:

  • module presence / detection
  • vendor / model / identification
  • link status and negotiated speed
  • temperature
  • voltage
  • bias current
  • Tx power
  • Rx power
     

These are the same kinds of values TP-Link already documents for DDM-supported SFP modules in its own business networking products.

 

Why this fits the BE800:
The Archer BE800 is positioned as a premium Wi-Fi 7 router with 10G connectivity, including a 10G SFP+/RJ45 combo port for both fiber and copper use. Because of that, basic SFP+ diagnostics would be a natural and practical addition for advanced home users and small-office users who want to monitor their fiber uplink properly.

 

Expected benefit:
This feature would reduce troubleshooting time, improve supportability, and make the SFP+ port far more useful for users who actually deploy fiber or SFP+ hardware on the BE800.

 

Important note:
This request is not asking for advanced management features, alarms, or automatic shutdown behavior. The initial goal is simply to expose existing transceiver diagnostics in the BE800 web UI in a clean and user-friendly way. If a module does not support DDM/DOM, the UI could simply show that diagnostics are unavailable for that module.
