Hi

I just bought a WR1043ND router, which will exclusively control the internet access for my children. I made many tests yesterday. Access control seem to work fine but not the parental control.

Indeed parental control seems to only support HTTP, and HTTPS website are forbidden !
Even if I understand the technical problem (how to get the website name within encrypted trames), not managing HTTPS makes my purchase unuseful.
I can indeed not allow : google, wikipedia, neither my son's school website were his homeworks are given.

Is there a workaround to whitelist or blacks HTTP - AND - HTTPS websites per time slots with the parental control ?

Regards

TP-LINK routers's parental control seem not to support such https websites. is there any router supports so?

according to my understanding, this is impossible. Your only can block any site can not block the entire https

Indeed it is very desappointing.
The best I found is to mix control parental (for defining time based rules) + opendns (for defining allowed or forbidden website).
As it is a DNS control, it's applied on both HTTP and HTTPS.

The only drawback is that DNS rules are applicable to all family members. For instance, if I disable a game website, it is for the whole family and not for a particular user.
