Firmwareupdate for TP-PL8030P

Hello,
I'd like to ask for a firmware update for the TP-PL8030P adapters which is based on the latest or a more recent *.nvm file.
Background:
As far as I know, all 1200 or 1300 Mbit/s powerline adapter are using the same chipset from Qualcomn (QCA7500).
TP-Link is also selling the TP-PL8010P adapters which are similar to the 8030 adapters except they lack two lan ports.
The lastest firmware for the 8030 adapters is from 28/03/16 while the lastet firmware for the 8010 adapters is from 18/08/16 (Day / Month / Year).
The firmware file of a QCA7500 adapter consists of two files.
The first file is the *.nvm file which is the firmware for the chipset provided by Qualcomn.
The second file is a *.pib file (parameter information block) which stores parameter information (MAC-address, tone-map (which frequencies should be used with which power), ...) and is adjusted by the producer of the adapter (TP-Link).
The new firmware of the 8010 adapter has the following nvm file: MAC-7500-v2.2.2-00-X-CS.nvm .
The latest firmware of the 8030 adapter has only the following nvm file: MAC-7500-v2.0.0-05-X-CS.nvm .
As you can see there is quite a big version jump from one chipset firmware to the other.
With a new firmware I hope to get improved performance and stability, therefore I'd like to have a new firmware for the 8030 adapter which is based on at least the MAC-7500-v2.2.2-00-X-CS.nvm .
Devolo also sells 1200 Mbit/s adapters on the German market and they claim that an firmware update (with NVM 2.2.x ...) boosts performance by 20% (though I do not know if that's true or whether they have adjusted anything else like the tone map).
PS: I tried to crossflash firmware : Using the firmware from the 8010 adapters or a combination of the new nvm with the pib from the 8030 adapter but I could not flash the firmware.

For the TL-WPA8730 provide either the string, the screenshot of your firmware version or the *original PIB.
NOLAN
Thanks for offer, here's my current FW version screenshot. I'm in the UK, not sure about frequencies here, cant seem to find much info on them.

PIBs are country specific because each country or world region has their very own unique frequency bands that must be completely excluded from PLC use. This is not about PLC adapting to external disturbance - this is automatic - it's about PLC emissions not disturbing critical radio services.

Hey xer0w,
That's the US DEVICE ID.
In case you are planning to rollback, backup your current PIB with the PLCTOOL utility I attached on mine previous post before flashing this firmware.
WPA8730 V1 US PIB 2.2.3 ( based upon the 160325 release ) UNTESTED. ( USER BRICK BY UNDEFINED PORT )
Notice: This PIBs is straight ported without any testing.
Remember to attach on the PORT 1 (see few post back) and use the utility embedded within the archive.
Report back.

I updated, did I do it in aacceptable manner other than Port 1?
2018-06-25 06:35:55
I have a pair of US 8030P 1200 VERSION 1 (or 1A in the US). I did not attach to port 1 but did use the EU NVM and PIB files through my access point and then through the electrical outlet I then shut off the power saving and changed the mode to audio and video. No difference as my Netflix was dropping out after about 20 or 30 minutes and I would have to restart the powerline or wait for it to wake up again.
My version 1 Powerline had version 2 software, I just could not get a higher 2.0.0 version than on their website.
I downloaded the zip file as listed in this thread that included: TL-PA8030P(EU)-170616-2.2.3-BETA.pib AND MAC-7500-v2.4.0-01-NW6__-X-CS_modules_5-6_stripped.nvm
There were others listed but I chose these, not sure I was correct.
On my 8030P I had version 2.0.0.382-05_803111_160328_914
Now I have 2.4.0.55-01_803111_170616_915
'
Have not tested it yet....
Hope not using Port 1 to update was okay....
I did use the latest TP-Link PLC utility.
Thank you
Peter

Re:Firmwareupdate for TP-PL8030P

Hi
Im new to this forum. I have a few powerline adapters from TP-Link, TL-WPA8630(EU) v1, TL-PA8030P(EU) v1 and TL-PA8010(EU) v1 adapters.
The models are all on different firmware versions. I requested de Dutch tech support for an explaination.
I installed most recent firmware downloadable from the TP Link website.
For the 8630 that is TL-WPA8630(EU)_V1_170327 and in the webgui it shows 1.0.4 Build 170327 Rel.64615n and tpPLC shows 2.0.0.382-05_862011_151015_001,
For the 8010 TL-PA8010P KIT(EU)_V1_160818, tpPLC shows 2.2.2.1218-00_801191_160818_914
For the 8030 TL-PA8030P(EU)_V1_160328, tpPLC shows 2.0.0.382_05_803111_160328_914
I have no idea why the firmware version for the 8010 is higher.
One thing that I really don't understand is that the TL-WPA8630(EU) is failing on ACL. It can allow or deny new wifi registrations based on an ACL. Nowhere mention in the specification nor in any documentation; it can only hold 16 devices in the ACL list. I made a complaint about this, which is forwarded to PM in China and discussed if the will release a new firmware without this limit. Nowadays having more then 16 wifi devices in one household is pretty common and i dont want to use the wifi option without ACL allowance.
Is there a custom firmware available where the ACL limit is not set?

I finally managed to get around to trying this, but unfortunately I seem to have bricked my PLC.
I connected directly to one of the Ethernet ports (it has three and they are not numbered), and I used the utility from the zip archive. It started flashing but then said "failed", and I've not been able to connect to the TL-WPA8730 since, I have tried to reset using the reset button a number of times, but it wont pair and doesn't even light the Ethernet LED status when I plug a cable in (to any port), it does enable the default wi-fi and I can connect to it, but cant then get to the admin portal at http://tplinkplc.net.
Luckily I have a spare which I've now setup, but I don't want to attempt to flash this one as I'm afraid it will brick it too.
Do you know if there is anything I can do to bring the bricked one back to life?
(btw I accept and understand that there's always a risk of this happening when playing around with unofficial FW updates, and as I have a spare I'm more than happy to try again assuming I can revive the dead one)

Hello,
can someone please reupload the beta Firmware 2.4 for the 8030P V2 (EU Version) Powerline Adapters?
The Link from User msa6ok in Post #60 does not work anymore. And the Download, User schroeder provided in Post #48 and #50 does not work either for me.
Background:
I have occasionally Disconnects with with my wired Network in Combination with my Powerline Adapters 8030.
My Network Adapter on the PC is marked with the yellow exclamation mark (Windows 7) and the Log is telling me there is a DNS Timeout Problem.
The Problem can be fixed (until the next Disconnect) through deactivating and reactivating my Network Adapter on the PC in the System Settings.
I have two 8030 Adapters with V2 and one 8030 in V1.
I managed to update the Firmware for the V1 Adapter to beta 2.4. The User Martha 321 provided it here on Page 6. Originally it was provided by the TP-Link Suppert. This is the Download Link http://tp-link-support.de/firmware/TL-PA8030P/TL-PA8030Pv1_171117.EU.Beta.stability.zip
But it did not help. My other two V2 Adapters, one of them is connected with my Router, are running with the newest official Firmware from TP-Link. Some Users reported, the beta Firmware 2.4 fixed the Disconnects so i wanted to give it a try.
Sadly, like said, the Download Links are missing. Can someone please reupload them? Or better yet, can TP-Link update their rubbish Firmware like other Companies do? Thank You!

Re:Firmwareupdate for TP-PL8030P

That beta firmware is not for 8030P V2. It seems there is no beta firmware for V2 version..
The one you mentioned is also used for V1 not V2.
If you ping LAN IP address of your main router on the device which is connecting to 8030P, does it still drop connection frequently?
Make sure the firmware of your V2 is the latest one on their official website.
