How do I find the ip address?

I bought a PA8010 powerline kit which has two adapters.
I plugged them in and they worked straight away.
After about an hour or so both unit turned off - no lights, and the tp-link utility said there were no devices connected.
Turning them off and on again and they both work fine - for about an hour or so and then they turn off.
I have reset both, and they both have version 2.0.0.382-05_808011_151208_002.
Reading other posts I think this may be an ip address conflict.
How do I find the ip address of these units?
They don't show in the Ethernet connected devices in my router, nor do they show in two different ip scanners.
