Hello all,

I bought a kit of TP-Link powerline adapter in China last time but the firmware is in Chinese, anyone know if there is an English firmware that I can flash to this model? Is that possible?

Very possibly, those PLCs made for China aren't compliant with your current country's regulations. Violations would be on both the PLC and the WLAN sides. I wouldn't bother.

If that exact same model is sold in other countries, then i'm pretty sure the PLCs would be identical, and the country specific settings would be in the firmware.... It would be far too expensive to have to customise hardware per country - and what if the regulations changed?

You might find English firmware in say Hong Kong or Singapore if sold there?

Otherwise - you should very rarely need to change settings - use Google translate?

You don't make it clear where you actually want to use this, but alternatively buy a supported UK / USA version? I have the WPA-8730 and it is very good.

Thanks, but unfortunately I did not find any similar model in other countries. Sure, I can use google translate but too much work to do it one sentence at a time every time. If there is an english firmware, that would be better. I use these while travelling and sometime I do need to change certain settings.
