From looking into the firmware files: The V2 uses a newer Qualcomm chip (the 7550), and also uses the current release state 2.2.2 of the Qualcomme core firmware. V1 is still stuck on ancient firmware 2.0. Literally everyone else has updated their PLCs to at least 2.2.1, even TP-Link have done so on the 8010P V1 - just not the 8030P V1.

I would - but mind, the V1 with their current firmware, even though old, work very well at least for me.
