WR-941HP signal issues

Hello, I'm new to this forum and honestly to configuring networks.
I recently bought a WR-941HP router because my house is relatively big (170 square meters) and my old router didn't have enough signal strength.
Think of my house as an L where the bottom right corner is where my router is located (my living room, where most of my wired things are), and my room is on the at the higher spot on the L, the signal on my network is suposedly very strong, but for some reason the connection is reaaaally slow, when I'm at my living room, my speed test is around 40MB download, and 5MB upload, when I'm at my room, it's 05, MB and 02MB or something like that, sometimes 5MB download but nothing higher than that, the weird part is that even the router settings are slow (192.168.1.1 admin panel).
I'm thinking maybe my router should be placer in an specific way? Not sure but this signal difference is very weird in my opinion, specially since this router is supposed to cover a lot more than my house radius.
Any help please?

By the way, I've tried all 3 channels and it just doesn't fix the issue... I can't return this piece of crap but I'm super pissed about this product.

Your house is big, 170
square meters, it's hard to get all part covered with one router even it's a high power router. I would suggest a range extender or powerline extender, or newly Deco M5

Did you tried to change the "
Transmit Power:" in
"
Wireless Advanced"?

I have a rage extender, also TP Link product, with that.. it kind of works a bit better... but still not usable for today's standards.. too slow, disconnects, etc. And yes, i've tried with 75% and 100% transmit power, no fix :(
