RE355 drops internet connection randomly

I have been using this repeater for over a year now and the issue still remains. Even when placed near the router, the repeater will lose internet connection. Also, there is no firmware update for UK version and no open source firmware from DD-WRT and OpenWRT as well. If you search the internet on this issue, quite a few users are complaining about this as well.
