Hello,

I am planning on buying PLC equipment for connecting several parts of my house.

I am an IT engineer, and designed the home network to be splitted the network into several logical entities that needs to be segregated.

For that purpose, I need to know if there Gigabit capable PLC devices from TP-LINK, that can carry 802.1q VLAN tags accross the powerline communication network.

I don't seem to find any clear answer to this.

Thank you !

The powerline is like a simple switch, it will pass 802.1q VLAN frames, will not block it.

Hi,

Thanks for you answer.
I understand the powerline is like a simple switch or a HUB.
But the Ethernet part of the PLC device, does it accept getting 802.1q tagged frame inbound (in the RJ45 port) that will later on be carried over powerline to the other PLC device ?

Thank you. Really enjoy the help. There really little answer to this question .

Hello , Also interested in the answer. My TPLINK AV600 does not seem to forward my tagged packets (replacing the PLC link by a ethernet cable works). I'm looking for a PLC solution that is compatible with 802.1 Q tags. the internet does not help much on this. thanks!
