ZTE MF833T - Unable to configure it in TP-MT3420(EU) v5

My TP-Link router type/model/serial number - TP-MR3420(EU) version 5
My Airtel (India) dongle ZTE MF833T does not connect to internet using router TP-MT3420(EU) version 5.
Since the service provider Airtel was not part of the list, I had added the APN and dialup information as follows.
APN - airtelgprs.com
Dial number - *99#
The Tp-Link support personnel asked me to change the IP address from 192.168.1.1 to 172.16.0.1 on the router and it did not help. I also installed the firmware TL-MR3420v5_1.0.0_0.9.1_up_boot(180205)_2018-02-05_10.29.56(E3372& OTHERS) which was meant for additional support to MF833, and it still did not help. The internet connection still shows amber light in the internet connection LED in the router.
The version of firmware on the 4G ZTE MF833T dongle is BD_TRAMF833TV1.0.0B02 and the hardware version is MF833TV1.0.0
The version of firmware and hardware on the TP-MR3420 (EU) v5 router is as follows
Firmware Version: 1.0.0 0.9.1 v0001.0 Build 180205 Rel.36981n
Hardware Version: TL-MR3420 v5 00000001
In the tab advanced-status, it shows the WAN interface name as dhcp_USB_4G , I also get to see the MAC address, and connection type as 4G, but no IP address, subnet mask, gateway, primary and secondary DNS as 0.0.0.0
In the tab advanced-network-internet, 3G/4G USB modem, it displays "Detected successfully"
PIN status - Unknown
Please help me in getting this dongle configured on the router?
