Archer VR200v WiFi on 2.4ghz stops working

Archer VR200v WiFi on 2.4ghz stops working

Firmware Version : 0.2.0 0.8.0 v0064.0 Build 161202 Rel.71660n
I have had this modem for over a year now and had an ongoing issue were the 2.4 channel stops working. 5ghz still accepts connections and data through put but 2.4ghz stops accepting new connections or data through put however the SSID is still seen as active.
I have tried the following:-
Factory reset modem numerous times
Turned off the 5ghz
Shut off all devices that had a 2.4ghz (Chromecast, wifi extandeders etc).
The only solution is to switch the 2.4ghz channel off then on again or restart the modem. This can happen upto 3 times a day however typically it happens 2 a week.
