Hi,

I have been having this problem for a while.  I have the powerline set up around 10m from the main router and between 2 walls.  I find I am having intermittenet wifi outage when in the vacinity of the powerline adapter.  I have obsereved that devices will migrate to the main wifi despite being very close to the powerline adapter, for example I have a chromecast 30cm away from the powerline but it has preferred the main wifi, despite having camped on the powerline prior to this ? Both are operateing on 2.4GHz, one on channel 1 and the other on channel 13. I dont have any neighbours closer than 30m which wifi.  I occassionally use the powerline in the garage which is 30m from the main wifi and I experience normal operation.

Any advice ?

Thanks

John

Hi There,

For you case, please check if your chromecast can detect a strong Wi-Fi signal from the adapter?  If yes, but it still switch to your main router's Wi-Fi, please forget your main router's network on your Chromecast. So if the device want to connect to your main router's Wi-Fi, you have to put in password,  by that way I think the chromecast will always stay on the Wi-Fi network of the TP-Link powerline adapter.

Thanks

Hi, Both wifi signals use the same ssid. The problem isnt specific to the chromecast as all devices seem to prefer the main wifi over time desite the signal being poor and sometimes intermittent. Thanks for your help.
