AC1600 compatible USB ext Hard Drives?

I'm running an Archer VR600 v1, Firmware Version:0.2.0 0.9.1 v0057.0 Build 160614 Rel.41735n.

I've tried using a Western Digital My Book Essential Edition 1TB USB 2.0 External Hard Drive, 2009, ext power source, ntfs, but this would put the router into a reboot loop. The only success I've had is using a Western Digital My Passport Essential 250GB USB Portable Hard Drive, 2008, ntfs, but this drive is not big enough for it's intended purpose.

I would like to know if there are any lists of compatible USB external hard drives that can be used for media sharing ?

I do not know of any specific lists but the disk drive must be formatted either FAT, FAT32, or NTFS. The apple formats do not work. Also drives that require a lot of power may not work. You may need to add a powered hub.
