Model: TL-MR3020
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version: 1.3.0 0.9.1 v0001.0 Build 180907 Rel.52247n

We are going to drive around with an RV and bought this travel router for making a little network with our laptops and phones. Then I want to bridge to public wifis when we find them. So I would like to set up a little private wireless lan where the computers, phones and preferably the router has fixed local IP:s, for instance in the range 192.168.0.X and then on demand connect to a public wifi and get internet access for all devices. But when I test it at home with both the travel router and our stationary router having DHCP servers, it seem to work very bad. Sometimes the travel router gets a 192.168.0.X ip, sometimes it gets the range from the stationary router, the same with the computers. Is there any way to set up this properly or do I always have to rely on the public wifi to act as dhcp with the result that my devices never get the same ip number?

To connect it to an existing wifi network to boost wifi signal, you can configure it as a repeater or bridge mode.

Below are the setup instructions: https://www.tp-link.com/en/faq-1880.html or https://www.tp-link.com/en/faq-1893.html

Note: Please notice that we cannot guarantee whether it works fine or its performance cause there may have some limits on the public wifi network.
