How do i check whether the Deco units are connected via powerline, does the power adaptor plug light show the current status?

There is a PLC indicator on the power supply, and solid green means that the connection speed is higher than 50Mbps. May it help.

So green is powerline working faster than 50 mbit/s, what do the other colours indicate?

You can regard it as lower than 50Mbps.

 

You can change another wall socket to plug it and make it solid green.
