Model: TL-WR841N
Hardware Version: V11
Firmware Version:

I have 2 routers of TP-LINK, the last one I bouthg, is Archer C2 (Main router), get IP from ISP, working great and all is good.

DHCP is between 192.168.0.100-255

My old router is TL-WR841N/TL-WR841ND V11 (firmware was upgrade to the last one from official site).

Now, My main router (192.168.0.1) is connect to my old router that I need to be my access point.

I saw that old router made his LAN, and using 192.168.1.1 as DG, and DHCP between 192.168.1.100-255

The IP he got from main router is 192.168.0.143, so as the guide video say's, I try to change LAN IP to 192.168.0.2, but I get massage say: "WAN ip and LAN ip are in the same subnet".

Then unpluged the WAN from my network and connect only with my PC to the router, and it's work, but after I recconect the router to network ( this time to LAN port ), I can't reach out to the internet.

What did I do wrong ?

Hi,

Below is the instruction  to configure the router as an access point.

https://www.tp-link.com/en/support/download/tl-wr841n/#video

In short, you need change the IP address to the same subnet first with computer connected to the router only, and then you need disable the DHCP server otherwise it will work as a router, not an access point. Then you can connect the main router to one of the LAN ports to get internet.

May it help and have a nice day.
