TL-WR940N does not accept Firmware upgrade file named wr940nv6_eu_3_19_1_up_boot(180119).bin
When I try to upgrade the firmware (as there are definite bugs, like not being able to hide the SSID when in Repeater mode) I get this error:
Error code: 18005 |
Upgrade unsuccessfully because the version of the upgraded file was incorrect. Please check the file name. |
The file is unmodiied from unzipping the file after downloading it from this location on the TP website:

The current firmware TL-WR940N_V6_171030 on your router is US version, and the one you want to upgrade to is EU version.
Due to FCC and CE laws, we are not able to upgrade from US version to EU version or vice versa.

Hello, it is suggested to open your own post next time if you have a different model or issue with the original poster, as this poster may not want to get notified since his inquiry had been addressed already, we hope you could understand.
BTW, which website do you refer to for the WR840N(US) V6? What I assume is that this model and version has been discontinued for long, so there is no firmware available on the official website.
