Model: Deco M5
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

I have serveral devices on my existing network, with a server using the 192.168.1.1 as the IP address. As a result I could not just use 192.168.1.1 as the IP address for the Deco M5 network. Therefore, I configured the LAN IP on the M5 network to 192.168.1.254 and everything worked fine until the Deco M5 was rebooted. Upon reboot I noticed that the LAN IP on the Deco M5 changed to 192.168.1.1 and as a result there was a IP conflict with the server and I end up with a non-functioning network. How do I make the M5 stick to the IP address I configured it to use?

I can go and make changes to the IP addresses of other devices on the network and make it work, but this would required a lot of work.

Hi,

please  change the WAN DNS and make it not in the same network segment as the LAN IP.

How to change WAN DNS: https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/1855/

After that, please test whether it works.

Any updates, please let us know.

Good day.
