Can't access router settings for Archer D2 AC750
I can't access the settings of my TP Link Archer D2 AC750. When I try to access http://tplinkwifi.net/, I get the following message
When I look at my IP address, it starts with 84.238.xx.xxx and not 192.168.x.xxx like I see most people's IP. I feel like that is the reason it can't connect but I'm not sure. I feel like I've tried everything including shifting browser, accessing the website through the IP address, with and without Ethernet cable etc.
I really hope you can help me since it's driving me nuts.
(I had to choose the modal as AC500 since my model is not popping up in the drop down menu)

Thanks for your reply.
Please unplug the cable from the outlet which goes into the LAN4/WAN port.
Then please connect your computer to D2 only and try to login to the web interface; still the same, try to hard reset it.
Meanwhile, if the outlet connects to the D2 via the ethernet cable, you need configure D2 as a regular wireless router as the following instruction:

Hi,
Thanks for remind me that the Archer D2 is not listed, we will update it later.
Back to your case, to login to the web interface of D2, first we need connect your device to the D2 by wired cable or wireless, then use tplinkmodem.net or 192.168.1.1 to login, not tplinkwifi.net.
Or you can refer to the instruction below to login to the web interface:
https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/114/
May it help and have a nice day.

Hi, thanks for your reply. It didn't work with either tplinkmodem.net or 192.168.1.1 even though I'm obviously on the TP-link network. I've tried downloading the app as well which didn't work either. It's like my computer doesn't recognise that I'm on a TP-link network at all. I've tried both with the Ethernet cable and wireless.

And when I look up my IP address, it still says 84.238.xx.xxx. Shouldn't it be 192.168.x.xxx as the router suggests? I feel like that could be the reason it won't recognise it.

Hi,
The current IP address obtained by your computer is an public IP address, I'm afraid that you setup a PPPoE connection on your computer with the information given by ISP. Just like below( here we take windows 10 as example) https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/921/
So it is suggested to ensure that you connect your computer to the D2 directly. Meanwhile, you can connect your cellphone to the TP-Link wifi to give it a go.
Below is an instruction to troubleshoot: https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/2236/
May it help and have a nice day.

It doesn't look like I'm using a PPPoE connection since I don't have that dial-up phone symbol next to the TP-LINK_8BEE.
I tried connecting directly to the internet without the router and it had the same IP address as shown in the picture above so I can conclude that my router doesn't provide the private address and just uses the IP-address provided by my ISP. It seems really strange.

The IP address obtained by your computer is a public IP address, that is why we doubt that you use the PPPoE connection on your computer;
If it is a Windows computer, go to control panel-network and internet-network and sharing center-change adapter settings, right click on ethernet or local area connection and choose status, show me a picture of it.
In the same page, check whether you can see broadband connection, right click it and take a picture of status page as well.
Meanwhile, have you ever tried to disconnect the DSL line from the DSL port and connect your computer or cellphone to the D2 and check the IP address obtained and try to login?

This is the status page for the Ethernet cable which is connected to the D2. Everything is in Danish but let me know if you need anything translated. Is you can see, the IP address is still not anywhere near 192.168.x.xxx
When looking at the WiFi connection, the IP address is still not 192.168.x.xxx.
This is the cable setup to the router
Let me know if you need anyting else.
