Below is the instruction to use media sharing function: https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/1528/
How do you access the media files? Please show us a screenshot of it.
What about other files stored on the HDD, are they detected by the C5400?
With the HDD plugged into the computer, can media files be detected?
What is the amount of the media files and its format?
Meanwhile you can change another USB port to plug it.

I'm trying to access the TV and the Smartphone (VLC). In both are listed only a few files. When i connect to the PC it load all files normally.
I tested the HD on my parents' home router, which is also TP-Link (AC3150 V1), and the files.db file loaded all my videos. When I put in my router loads only some files in files.db.
I'm change another USB port and the same problems occurs.

May I know how mang db.files have been stored on the HDD? And how mang .db files can be recognized by the router?
What is the file format?
Have you tried to move all .db files into one folder to give it a go? Or you can share the .db files which cannot be recognized separately and test whether it can be detected.

Generate only one db file. The db file is always generated with data from three to eleven first files.
On the HDD it has more then 1000 JPG, MP4 e MKV files.
HDD is usually detected on the router or PC, but db files never load all media files

I have the same problem on my Archer C5400 V2.
When i first purchased the router all the media files used to show on the media server. Now if i plug in the same drive, the files are limited to less than 50 although i have more than 500 files on the drive. I think the database has a limit and this was not the case when i first bought the router.
I switched to another drive (USB Key 32GB) with only 28 media files, the media server read only 8... it is a pitty to have such limitation in a very expensive router.
TPLink did you find any solution?
