Does an Ethernet switch have to be directly connected to a router, or can it be connected via Powerline, i.e. Router -> TL-PA81010P -> TL-PA81010P -> TL-SG1005D ?

@BillR

The switch can connect to the existing network where we can access internet.

So you can connect the switch to the main router directly or connect it to the powerline adapter. Both ok.

May it help.

Does this work using an extender like the RE200 to connect the switch?

How do you want to connect them together?

Absolutely, the switch can connect to the RE200 directly cause it has the ethernet port, while please notice that a main router is needed to get internet.

Besides, the RE200 supports access point mode, you can connect it to the switch by ethernet cable to extend the network.

Best regards.
