Model: Deco M5
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

Deco provides both 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi networks with the same network name. I want to make sure that my TV connects to the 5GHz Wi-Fi network. How do I do that? Can I make a separate 5GHz Wi-Fi network with a different name?

@Nymand-Lund

They use the same network name, which cannot be changed separately. While the 2.4GHz and 5GHz option are isolated.

To ensure that TV connects to the 5GHz wifi, you can disable 2.4GHz first and then the TV will detect the 5GHz network and connect to it.

Then to avoid the roaming between different networks, you can toggle the "mesh technology" button off. You can click the TV under online devices page on the Deco app and go to the main page to get this option.

@Kevin_Z do you have any update on the M4 firmware upgrade regarding separation of 2.4 and 5 Ghz netwrok?

If I toggle off the mesh technology to connect to 5 Ghz on my Deco M4, then what is point of geeting a mesh system-could you explain?
