Scheduled reboot not working
Scheduled reboot not working
Hi,
The scheduled reboot on the MR6400 doesn't seem to work, have set a daily scheduled reboot, but no entries found in the log that are indicating the reboot is actually happening.
When doing a manual reboot from the router webinterface (soft reboot) the log shows clearly that the LTE module has been re-initialized, date goes back to 2016, and all old log entries are gone.
Is this a known issue?
It was the case with both the latest firmware available via the TP-Link website as the internal (beta) firmware i received via this forum. (Kevin_Z)
Regards,
Michiel

I discovered that strange enough the scheduled reboot only works when being in an area where 3G/4G signal is available.
Have been in port for 2 days, the scheduled reboot works.
Today back at sea, no signal / no connection and the reboot did not happen.
But the good thing is the 4G connection has been very stable during those 48 hours in port, not a single disconnect during that period. (According the log) So this internal firmware might have cured this instablity problem. In those 48 hours 103GB data has been used, i guess quite a bit more then the average MR6400 user...

We did a test at our lab, the reboot schedule should be working well both in 3/4G router mode and wireless router mode.
And we need ensure that it can access internet.
Meanwhile, glad to hear that it works well now, become more stable.
You can take more time to test its performance, any updates, you can let us know.
Good day.

Hello,
I have the same problem with tl-mr6400. It does not reboot due to schedule auto reboot, and it does not save the time as well. Each time i try to change the time due to my pc, after reboot the default time appears again.
Please help me to solve my problem.

What is the hardware and firmware version of your device?
After you select the time duration, you need hit save;
Try to change another browser or device to give it a go.
Besides, you can hard reset it by holding the reset button/hole for 10s to give it a shot.
May it help and have a nice day.

Actually I have two tl-mr6400 routers, and the firmware of the first router is: Firmware Version: 1.12.0.0.9.1 Build 190730 RC.59984n Hardware Version: TL-MR6400 v3 00000001 and the firmware of the second router is: Firmware Version: 1.7.0.0.9.1 v0001.0 Build 181214 Red 49556n Hardware Version: TL-MR6400 v3 00000001 The second router was the same as the first one, but I tried to upgrade its firmware trying to solve my problem, but unfortunately still having same issues even though I changed the browser and I used the hardware reset as you asked me.

Thanks for your reply, that is a little weird, we have done a test at our lab, the reboot schedule works properly.
To make reboot schedule work, you need go to advanced-system tools-time settings to correct the system time first; then go to reboot-reboot schedule page to set it up.
Please shot a short video of this issue and send to us? Then we can do further analysis.
Besides, can you get internet with the TL-MR6400?
Thanks in advance, and have a nice day.
