Model: Deco M9 Plus
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

There is potential to use the zigbee support to turn the m9 plus into the number one router for home automation. There are already hubs on the market that support huge numbers of devices. Competing with them is hard. The M9 could however act as super range extender for another hub by.

1. Publish a small API that allows people to integrate the m9 in their favorite hub.

2. Use the WiFi and Ethernet backbone to send zigbee messages between the decos.

I’m sure there is demand for this and unlike the crowded hub market no product can do it.

@Ddds

This is an excellent idea.

Getting zigbee coverage throughout a large house is problematic and often requires a lot of extra equipment, by using the zigbee net in M9 to extend the coverage for an existing smart hub it would become a much more attractive product to the customer.

@Ddds

The Deco M9 plus can work as a regular router by connecting it to the modem by wired cable and it can work as an access point to connect to the router by wired cable or wirelessly.

It is a good but challenge idea, which has much difficulties to achieve it.

Meanwhile, for your information, we always keep complete the features supported by the Deco units to make it more powerful.

You can keep an eye on official website for the updates.
