Archer VR400 can't ping router from outside network?
trying to host a web service through my VR400, port redirection works fine but i cannot ping the router from the external network?
i looked extensively through the routers interface, i couldn't find an option to allow icmp messages from the external internet. I am able to ping the router from the internal network and it responds.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

How did you ping it from external network? You can show us a screenshot of the ping result.
And may I know why do you want to ping it from the external network?
FYI, you can find ICMP-Flood Attack Filtering under Advanced > Security > Firewall & DoS Protection page.

Hi Kevin,
Just using the standard ping command on Linux. Here is the ping image for both the URL and the associated IP: https://imgur.com/a/UVNIQNk
I have a web service there that people need to be able to ping for testing purposes.
"FYI, you can find ICMP-Flood Attack Filtering under Advanced > Security > Firewall & DoS Protection page."
Does this allow pinging? I guess i will test it now. Thank you for your input.

The ICMP Flood Filtering setting does not allow the device to be pinged, this issue is till unresolved.

Theoretically, the ICMP Flood filtering settings won't affect the ping service.
You can disable DOS protection to rule out it. Meanwhile, did you ping the WAN IP of the VR400 or the LAN IP + port number of the web server?
Please show us a screenshot of the ping results.
