Lucky you. For me the issue is still present. Let me explain my situation:

Firmware Version:
3.13.26 Build 130129 Rel.59449n
Hardware Version:
WDR3600 v1 00000000

Wireless 2.4Ghz in mixed mode, security set to WPA-PSK (more stable compared with WPA2) and automatic encryption, wireless 5Ghz in mixed mode all setting on auto. The rest of settings are stock. I'll assign IP after. My setup:

- One Pc/Mediacenter cable connected
- Two smartphone and one tablet connected on Wi-Fi n 2.4Ghz (all Android devices)
- One Wii connected on Wi-Fi g
- One SmartTV connected on Wi-Fi n 5Ghz

2.4Ghz disconnect randomly even with just two device and just a cold reboot resolve the issue. Today happens twice when my son use a Wii and I was connected with my tablet.
Is there someone who can drive me on TRUE solution? I have four days more to return the router but I prefer stay with it...

Thanks.

i have the N600 and have 12 clients connected at anyone time pc/laptops/tablets/smartphones the problem i have found is the new ipad when its connected it seems to kick the router out of sync with everyone causing "unidentified network" problems and the only way to get everyone to connect again is a re-boot :( so i moved the ipad to use the 5Ghz band away from the 2.4Ghz and it has seemed to solve the issue. (i have updated to the new firmware)

Google on Ipad and Iphone connection problems and you will see there are many issues with them. They seem to be fixed (partially) in IOS 6 update.

Furthermore an extra reset to factory setting of the router may help you.

To be clear : I have no issues at all with mobile devices.

yes i had a look on the apple site lots of people having problems with the TP-LINK routers. what i established is apple use just 20MHz in there wireless adapters so if you move the apple to the 5Ghz band away from the 2.4Ghz band you can leave the 2.4Ghz band in auto in the Channel Width setting so it can use 20+40 GHz. otherwise you have to set it to 20GHz as apple suggest, meaning any device other than apple will loose channel width.and i think this is my cause of dropouts and unidentified networks happening because i don't get it when apple stuff is on the 5GHz band.

It's an Apple problem, although they will never acknowledge : They do not have proper hardware drivers in their latest mobile devices and it should be (and is partially in 6.1) solved there. It's not only TP-Link, they have problems with a lot of other router brands. I recently saw the same problem with a Linksys router. What you did, is only a circumvention for Apple's problem.
Furthermore it should not be necessary to reduce bandwith to 20Mhz. All other brands of mobile and desktop devices do not have any problem, f.i. Android devices, laptops etc. etc.. Each adapter should be able to make it's own decision on using 20 or 40Mhz.
So Apple : acknowledge the problem and solve it!!

BTW : I always use fixed channels, after checking my environment with inSSider. I regularly check again and it also can solve a lot of instability issues.
