Deco M9 Plus slow LAN speed - help me please
Hi
I’m having some serious speed issues with my Deco M9 plus.
Until recently I had a 100/100mbit internet line, and all was fine. The Deco app speed check confirmed speeds of 90/90 to 100/100mbit, and I was measuring this speed also on my desktop PC over LAN and on several wireless devices (iPhone 8, iPad, labtop PC).
Now my internet was upgraded to 500/500mbit (this is at least what am now paying for). Running test on the Deco app I consistently get over 600/600mbit test results. BUT… everywhere else I test, I remain at approx. 90/90mbit, and this applies for both LAN and WiFi!!
When I plug in my desktop PC directly to the modem, I get approx. 600/600 over LAN (using a 15m Cat6e cable). When I add the Deco over LAN, and no other devices, no switch or anything else, the LAN speed is reduced to approx. 90/90 (adding a 1m Cat7 cable). This is using the same test engine running on the desktop PC. What is going on here??
I tried taking one of my other Deco’s, resetting it, re-adding to the Deco network and setting this as main Deco. But all with the same poor result.
I’ve not bothered trying to troubleshoot the wireless connection yet, as resolving my LAN speeds has prio.

Thanks for your requesting. From your description, it seems that the negotiation speed between the devices is 100Mbps only, not 1000Mbps, that is why you get 90/90Mbps from the Deco.
First, try to change another ethernet cable ( cat5e or above), and change another ethernet port on both modem and the Deco M9 plus.
After that, with ISP router-- main Deco M9 plus-PC only, please run a speed test on your PC and show us the test results; furthermore, please click here to verify the wired negotiation speed on your PC.
Note: The steps are the same, while you need right click on local area connection or ethernet connection.
Besides, try to set QoS-application priority as standard and clear all the high priority rules.
Please disable anti-virus feature as well.
May it help and have a nice day.

Any updates on this? I've been having the same problem for months now. I have 2 devices wired to different Deco's in the same room maybe 6m apart. Both devices say there connected with 1.0 Gbps but the data-speed when copying a file is around 100Mbit/s.

What is the current network diagram? How do you connect these devices together?
How do you connect your devices to the Deco M9 plus? By wired cable or wireless?
How do you transfer the file? Please show us a screenshot which contains the transferring speed.
Thanks in advance.

@DK-Chris The m9 speeds are so bad. Up and down too.

YES! I am having the same problem. Any wired connection I put to any device ends up below 100mbit. I've had to switch everything to WiFi as it is 3x faster. I have a gigabit Fios connection and am getting close to that coming in to the first of 3 - m9s.
Please let me know if you find a solution.

Hi Chris. I am also experiencing this with my Deco M9s. I have a NAS connected to a switch that's pluged in the Main Deco and 2 laptops connected over WiFi. Between either 2 of them, the transfer speed doesn't exceed 12-13MB/sec, so roughly 100Mb/sec. The QOS settings are all set to Standard and I don't have any High Priority devices.
How exactly did you reset QOS? Is there something else I should be doing?
Thanks in advance!

You reset it by running the built in speed test.

Has anyone figured this out? I just got an M9. Have a 400ps mb connections with is what I get with the speed test however I only get 100mbps over a wired connection. I get 250-300 on the same pc with wireless. Does not make sense.
