Region : Romania

Model : TL-WDR4300

Hardware Version : V1

Firmware Version :

ISP :

I attached an extern HDD to my wdr 4300 and when I go to my tv (samsung D5000) on source and click to TP-Link (router) I can see the folders, run into them, but when I'm trying to play a movie (avi/mkv or other), my TV says "cannot play this type of files".

If I access the hdd attached to router from a PC, I can play movies.

Where is the problem, on router or TV ?

Sorry for my bad english

Hello, Alungatu, Maybe you can have a test. Connect the HDD directly to your TV and check whether the TV can play the video on your HDD or not.

i have a solution for this issue

i have try to partition the WD 3TB into 2 pieces, and it works on the TP LINK Router WDR4300

but be careful when you partition your WD Drive, i have partition it into 2TB and 1TB, but the last 1 TB cannot be detected both on local computer and from the router, the problem with the partition format maybe, i still working on it to repair the last 1 TB

good luck guys
