Model: Archer MR200
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.2.0 0.9.1 v004a.0 Build 170927 Rel.58861n

parental controls are not working no matter if black or white list mode and activation time 24x7 or not.

I don´t see any effect on the devices i want to prevent from internet access. name an mac entries are

made with copy paste .. so it´s not a typo or anything like that.maybe it´s a firmware matter, but i´m

not able to update the fw too ... see my other thread?!

any ideas/suggestions for the parental controls bug?

No way Kevin whatever i tried it didn´t worked. Yesterday I have bought a new MR6400. The MR200 hardware ver.2 seems to be a router for the fishes ;-)

I see, thanks for your reply.

If you still want to do further analysis to locate this issue, you can send the screenshots of the parental control settings on Archer MR200. Otherwise, you can use the TL-MR6400 to enjoy internet and block specific devices to access internet.

Good day.

@Mik_Ian_Castle

Hi There,

I do have problem with parental control. I use Archer MR 200. Firmware Version:1.9.0 0.9.1 v0001.0 Build 190307 Rel.54196n Hardware Version:Archer MR200 v4 0000000

Basically seems that this feature doesn't work. I've did setup control according to guidelines - but without effect.

  1. defined device
  2. defined schedule
  3. defined blaclisted
  4. defined bloced URL/keywords

and still can access youtube without problem ...

Reboot didn't helped either.

Any advice?

Hello, I had the same problem until moments ago.

I just realized setting the Internet Access Time isn't that intuitive. I've seen you posted this months earlier but still hope you can get some help.

Have you tried selecting all the boxes with Whitelist as restriction mode and no Keyword for it, to see if at all setting parental controls worked?

That's what solved my problem.

I read this:

"Please notice that the internet access time which most of you get confused does not mean that you can access internet at that time, instead, it displays the restriction access time period; in other word, the filter rules setup on the parental control page will take effect during the selected time period."

Maybe read the full post (authored by @Kevin_Z , mentioned) if you haven't and are still looking forward to finding a solution:

What should I do if the Parental Control on the AC router does not work as expected?

I hope this still helps =)
