Deco P9 Maturity
I bought a Deco P9 last week. I'm not impressed. I think the firmware is very immature. I feel like I have paid to beta test it.
Fundementally I bought it to solve the problem that my smart plugs don't work. It doesn't solve that problem becuase you can't have seperate SSID for 2.5GHz.
I'm probably going to send it back unless I see a firmware update soon with a few more features. Is there any news on the roadmap?
I am extremely disappointed because I think this is a unique product. I don't think anyone else makes a powerline mesh. Do they?

Oh yes. Lets give it a couple of days and see if TP-Link is sacrificing their product and reputation for nothing.
I will also try to introduce a 3rd node that in the beginning had a negative impact in my network before the upgrade. Will do tonight and share results.

Great, thanks!
I'm using 6 units in my network and cannot upgrade currently "as a test" since a lot of devices rely on this network.
I'm willing to upgrade, when I'm sure it will go better.

I have 50 clients in this network. So far, so good. Im currently working from home and no bumps or so. I keep you posted but looking very promising.

It seems like a major improvement in any case. Looking forward to trying it.
Still, I think it would be better if there monthly firmware updates bringing one or two features each plus bug fixes, instead of having to wait for something so large. The official part looks almost like it's abandoned this way.
Especially because this product isn't suffering just from missing features, but from serious bugs.

I solved my issues by disabling the WiFi backhaul and only use PLC.

Adding some new findings:
- PLC speed seems to be configured to 600 even though P9 is advertised as 1000. I will do some experiments on that.
- HTTPS to router IP is working and is possible to configure the device by browser.

Thanks for this. I'm confused by the version numbering though as I'm currently on 1.0.4, which on the face of it appears to be a newer version! I certainly don't have any of the new features though.
Or maybe TP-Link don't exercise global version control?
