Deco m9 plus v2 update?
Hello, I would like to know if there will be a new update for this version. I bought this product thinking that I would solve my Internet connection problems, and I see that if it fulfills its function but has very limited functions and for the price it has I find that it does not meet the expectations, that is why I speak for many users who need to know if this version will have a new update since it has been many months and we have only received answers avoiding the subject.
Please we need to know if this version will have a new update and especially if you will have concisable improvements

I think you posted an old version (v53529 - from March 2020)
the instruction document says there should be SP1 version 69776 from May 2020.
this date makes more sense for a release now.
Can you please check and provide the very latest version?

So I took the plunge and updated to the firmware posted here about 20 minutes ago.
First things first, the firmware changed my IP configuration from 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.4.1. This would probably not be noticable to most people but I have devices with hardcoded IPs, one in particular acting as my DNS server. So right off the bat, internet is not working.
Trying to connect to the deco with the app I'm able to access all the settings as normal but I can't change the IP settings. Every time I change it and try and save it says the setting can't be saved.
One nice thing, with the reserved IP addresses they were all updated to 192.168.4.xxx so if I did have to reconfigure my network at least I would know where everything was.
Ultimately what I had to do was remove my DNS from the internet settings and let it auto detect the DNS from my provider. After the Deco was able to reconnect to the internet I was then able to change the IP Address settings back to 192.168.1.1 and set my DNS server back up as the primary.
This begs the question, why, if I'm connected directly through WIFI to my router, does it need internet in order to change a setting like IP? That's extremely worrying to me. Especially because the new web interface is as barebones as can be with almost no settings that can be directly changed or managed. I wouldn't consider myself a power user but it makes no sense to me that an internet connection is needed for a local setting change.
Can someone from TP-Link provide an answer for this? @TP-Link_Deco

I've just successfully updated my two M9+ units using the update utility on Windows. Now I can confirm that ethernet is being used for backhaul :D

@haytona Curious if any one updated to this version from the US? There is an explicit warning not to install firmware meant for EU to be installed on the US version of the device. Can someone please advise if they successfully update on devices from Costco?

@Ragar Me too. I am running in router mode - the credentials work on the app and the website, but does not work on the Update Assistant.

@Navalin I can confirm that costco v2 version was successfully updated with the firmware that was attached to this thread. Though, see my comments above about issues that I had.
