Firmware Version:

I meet a weird issue with TP-LINK access points (2.4GHz), leading to being stuck a low bitrate/throughput. This happens when bitrate adjustment reaches '11Mpbs', at this point bitrate is never moved up anymore.

Notes: During download session, there is a constant adjustment of the TX/RX rate depending on the transmission conditions (I assume depending the retransmission count, RSSI, etc...), this works quite well but lead to an unrecoverable situation. Indeed, at some point, the AP switch to 11Mpbs TX bitrate with RTS/CTS controls, but never try to increase the bitrate anymore, though packets are correctly acked by the station (cf below capture) and RSSI is good. A disconnection/reconnection allows to recover full rate.

Is it a known issue? Does the TP-Link except something from the station in order to get back to a higher bitrate?

@lopou

Follow-up on the root cause, during scanning, device send NULL data packet with Power-Save flag to inform the AP that device will not be available until wakeup (i.e. a new packet without PS flag), but TP-Link AP seems to completely ignore that, and start a RTS storm, reducing throughput...
