Model: Archer C1200
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.1.3 Build 20180224 rel.41858 (JP)

Hello.

A (japanese) colleague passed me an Archer C1200 v2.1 that he purchased in his country, and that I need to use it for some work applications. When I enter into the configuration page of the router, the interface is in Japanese, and unfortunately I can't read it. I am in Mexico, and I would like to know if it is possible to change the language to English, or flash the firmware from a different region. I have tried to do so from the web browser interface, but with negative results.

Of course, I have been following the english manual and looking for the screen layouts, and some basic features can be configured with the telephone App. But at this point I need to configure some advanced functions and it has become very difficult to follow the same method.

I know that flashing a different region firmware would invalidate the warranty, or even brick the the router, but sincerely at this point I don't care much about that, since I am not using the equipment for what it was intended anyway. Any suggestion would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

@humbergw

Hello,

Sorry that the C1200(JP) version cannot upload the EN firmware, which is limited by the firmware build.

It is suggested to refer to the emulator on the official website to check the settings menus, or you may find a friend who understands Japanese to help you.

Good days.
