Model: Archer VR400
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 0.6.6 0.9.1

When I upgraded the modem to the July 2020 firmware release, I was not able to establish an internet connection (Plusnet UK)

The line was syncing but WAN status was 'Disconnected'

Suggest you dont upgrade firmware until this problem is fixed.

@jpuk

Hello!

After the firmware update, did you try to reset the modem and set up the internet connection type again?

And may I know what kind of connection type did you use for Plusnet, PPPOE? Do you also need Vlan ID?

If possible, can I have a picture of the DSL status page, such as:

Thank you very much~

@jpuk

Good Day!

For your case, please also help us check the following information:

  1. What is your original firmware, is it Archer VR400(EU)_V2_170719 or Archer VR400(EU)_V2_200227?
  2. Since you did not mention VLAN ID, so I guess maybe Plusnet does not need that, so now, could you please try to do the same PPPoE Broadband connection on the computer to see if the computer would get internet, such as https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/921/

(if the computer would be able to get internet, please try to clone the mac address on the VR400.)--it was under advanced--network--internet-modify(Or add);

Later, the related engineers would get in touch for further assistance.

Thank you~

Archer VR400(EU)_V2_170719

@jpuk

Did you ever get an answer to this, i have the same problem using the VR400 connecting to PLUSNET ADSL, DSL is connected but internet authentication never takes place.

Rolling back to previous firmware works.

Thanks,

Andrew

There is an updated firmware file available, no notes supplied as I don't use the tplink anymore so cannot test it but others following may do.
