Is there any general advice on how to orient the LTE antennas on this 4G modem?  I'm in deepest rural France and I don't even know which direction my nearest LTE tower is. By experimenting with different SIMs, I know that I can only get a decent speed from Orange France.  If I lock the router to 4G only then I'm getting close to 30Mb most of the time.

The router is placed against one of the external walls of the house (which is 50cm of stone) but it didn't seem to make any difference when I put it against a window.

What's the best direction to point the LTE antennas?  They're both pointing straight up at the moment, with the flats oriented in the same direction, against the wall.  I think I read that it's better if they are at 90 degrees to each other, but in which plane?

Thanks

David

@DJR

Good day.

Thank you very much for your time and patience.

You could use your smartphone to detect the 4G signal strength, such as downloading the LTE Discovery APP:

LTE Discovery is a powerful signal discovery and analysis tool with many advanced features and customizations available.

Once you find the best direction of the LTE signal, you could point the antennas to those directions.

 Thank you very much.
