Model: Archer C9
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 3.17.1 Build 20180125 Rel.56387n

I have a separate modem and router setup. Docics 3.0 modem and a TPlink archer c9 router (loving it for the past 3 years).

The wireless devices connected to tplink router looses out internet frequently. Then, when I switch the network from 5g to 2.4g on the laptop/cellphone internet works fine again.

Same issues happens on 2.4g as well, i would have to change back to 5g and internet works again.

Or i can also toggle wifi on/off on my client device and i get the internet back.

The wifi connection to device is strong and stable, just the internet does not come through.

This happens on all the devices connected to my router.

This issue does not happen when i am on voip call, kind of a sustained connection, i was having a 30-minute conference on MS.Teams on my laptop and the internet connection did not dropout. But when i was trying to browse web pages right after the call, there was no internet for couple of times in the past 5 mins.

This has been happening for the past couple of days, i checked with my ISP and they said there are no issues at their end. I also checked with my neighbours having the same ISP and they have not been having any internet issues.

any help on this?

Hello,

Thanks for all the detailed info.

So the current issue is that the wireless connection will lose the internet, both 2.4GHz and 5GHz, and you need to switch between 2.4GHz and 5GHz or disable/enable the Wi-Fi connection on the clients to make it work, while the wired device which connects to the C9 with an Ethernet cable still works well, right?

What is the LED status of the Archer C9 at that time? Is the internet LED orange or green? Is there still a WAN IP address on the C9 when the wireless disconnects? BTW, what is the WAN connection type on C9?

How many devices are connected to the C9 wireless network, 2.4GHz, and 5GHz? Are they losing the internet at the same time or randomly?

Have you ever tried to change some wireless settings yet? Including wireless channel and channel width. For example, change channel of 2.4GHz to 1, 6 or 11, channel width to 20Mhz; for 5GHz, use channel 36, 40 and 44, channel width 80MHz;

Besides, you can try to hard reset the router to give it a go as well.

There is the guidance you can refer to narrow down the issue:
