Alternative firmware support for Archer C1900 US version 2.0
Is there any way to load alternative firmware on this router? Even when I try to reload the factory firmware I get an error.

Hi, thanks for the update.
Is your C1900 a US version 2? Kindly show us the device bottom label, thanks.
If it is the US version, it should be no issue to update the firmware you linked. We don't suggest you install DD-WRT on it, TP-Link is not obligated to provide any maintenance or support for it and does not guarantee the performance and stability of third party firmware. Damage to the product as a result of using third party firmware will void the product's warranty.
Sorry about that.

Hello,
Why do you want to reload the current firmware? Where did you see the factory firmware? Please show us the download link, thanks.
BTW, please show me the device bottom label on your C1900 router, you may cover its MAC and password.
Good days.

@Kevin_Z I got the firmware from here:
https://www.tp-link.com/us/support/download/archer-c1900/#Firmware
It looks like there's only one version of the FW. Ideally I would like to install DD-WRT on it
