TL-MR3420 router not recognizing my ZTE TU25 WIMAX mordem

I have a ZTE TU25 wimax modem which works perfectly ok when connected directly to my laptop. i purchased a TP-Link 3G/4G router model TL-MR3420 so that i can share with my family but on connecting the modem to the router the router display "unknown modem" on the configuration page. I checked the firmware version as instructed on the manual and found out that the router is running the latest firmware for the model which was released on 12 06 12. I wrote a request on the support page , i have not received any acknowledgement of anyone looking into it.
Can someone please help on how i can use this router on my modem. additionally the modem is displaying "ZTE WiMAX BCM1000" in the device manager.
