Hello I registered in this forum to see if you can help me.

I maintain a TP Link router model w8961n, I would like to place 2 computers in that mode / router, which assigns 2 different IPs to 2 different computers, is there a way to do that?

They told me that with a swicht you can do that, but then they told me that this would be:

router + swich + moden
and not with moden / router + swich

could you help me? I would be grateful.

@Jossegafree

Do you mean you want to separate the LAN subnets on the two computers and forbid them from communicating with each other when they are both connected to the W8961N? If that is the case, you may need another router to accomplish this:

TD-W8961N (LAN port)-- (WAN port) 2nd router

Then you can connect PC1 to the LAN port of the W8961N, then connect PC2 to the LAN port of the 2nd router.

I hope this makes sense.
