Port forwarding for SSH
Port forwarding for SSH
Hello everybody for some time now I want to setup port forwarding for my Archer C1200.
I've got Raspebbry Pi connected via Wifi with IP 192.168.0.137 (static IP) in my home Wifi I can connect with Putty (SSH). I've got static Ip from ISS in router page I'm using Advance>Nat Forwarding>Virtual Servers, both ext/int ports are setuped for 22, protocols "All". From externam network I can't connect.
I'm using Canyouseeme: my IP is 89.174.15.82 I'm getting Reason: Connection refused

If you have another device before AC1200 router (ISP modem / router) then that deice might block SSH port. How is your ISP providing the service - direct LAN cable to your home or they have installed an additional device (to which you're connecting AC1200) ?

@Ivaylo My ISP is poroviding internet over radio. I'm connected to their modem installed on my rooftop. I'll give them a call tomorrow since they are closed already today. Thanks for an idea.

@kaziel After a call they stated that I have public IP that is visible from outside and they are not blocking any port. Don't know what to do. I've hooked up old netgear router and problem remains.

Can you confirm with your ISP that the 89.174.15.82 is really your public IP address and it is static (not dynamic).
Configuring the Virtual Server on your router should be like that:
Can you show your router Internet and DHCP Server settings ?

I think it's staticc I was checking it numerous times in last weeks and it's always like this.
My Virtual Servers are:
Guy from ISP told me that I should set dynamic IP from radio cause it will give me dynamic IP but always the same.

OK. So lets try something else:
open https://www.whatismyip.com in your browser and confirm your public address again.
Then open your Virtual Server settings and set the port-forwarding that way:
The use you SSH client to connect to external port 61022 from outside your network and see if that works.

If I were you, I would configure my router with Internet static IP address 192.168.1.2 (assuming you don't have anything else connected to your ISP modem except your AC1200). Then I would contact the ISP and ask them to open all ports to my router Internet IP address 192.168.1.2 - they should set that on their modem. Only then you would be able to control open ports through your AC1200.
