Model: Archer MR400
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version:

Hi all,

I bought this router because I needed a router with a good balance between price and features that would accept a sim card to share a 4G connection to work at home.

After a few months of a successful usage I finally have a proper internet connection and I would like to use this router as an access point but I'm unable to find this option.

Will this be supported? I've got 3 routers at my house at this moment (the ISP router, a tp-link tl-wr841nd and the  tp-link archer mr400) and I would like to have both tp-link routers as Access Points (the other one is already configured).

Best Regards,

Luís Pinho

@lpine

You should be able to use MR400 as AP if you configure like in this reference.

Connect main router LAN port to MR400 LAN port (Not WAN).

Choose Router mode operation.

Set LAN IP address in the same IP subnet as the main router.

Disable DHCP server in MR400.

Reboot the MR400.

If this was helpful click once on the arrow pointing upward. If this solves your issue, click once the star to mark it as a "Recommended Solution".

@Ivaylo I'll try to do that, thanks.

At this moment the router is being used for working purposes, so, I'm unable to try it.

This router doesn't have a dedicated wan port, it has a port(4) that acts as both wan and lan but I will try it and check if it works.

Thanks again for your feedback, if it works I'll came back here and set it as the correct answer.

Best Regards,

Yes, use one of the other 3 LAN (only) ports to do that.
