Good morning. I installed the modem router ARCHER VR600 following the directions from the app. But the connection is much slower than expected. What can be the cause? Thank you

Could you elaborate on what you mean by the connection is slower?  Is this WiFi or Internet and how are you testing this?

thank you Philbert,

from the moment I installed the new modem-router, both the internet and wifi connections became slower (about 40% slower). 
I test it with the app "Fing" and with the program "Speedtest Ookla" in internet.

What was the old router you had been using and what is your current connection type?  

 

If you can send me a screenshot of the WAN connection at moment to take a look at, I have the same router :)

 

It should look like this, you need to go to advanced.. status..   also what firmware version are you running?  latest is

Currently no fiber internet connection.

Hey

 

Ok so it looks like you are running the old firmware from 2017, there has been a good few updates since then and I believe one of them is a WAN connection patch

 

Try and update the firmware on the device, look at the build number as this is the date it was released in reverse..   Boild 170504    -  2017 / 05/ 04   look for something 2020, do an uupdate and reconnect then we can take another look for you

I have been running the June Beta for a while now (since june) and not had any issues. This was the performance upgrade one i had in mind Try the one before in March if you feel better not using the beta

Thanks for the update, so your line speed is around 7.3 mbps down and 0.8 up, that hasnt change which is what I was expecting.

 

Try doing some speed tests now on both Wired and Wireless and post us the results.    Speedtest.net   and   fast.com are usually quite good.   

 

Once we have that we can see if its specifically WiFi that is slowing you and go down that route  smiley
