Hi!

 

 

Please help me, maybe someone else had the same problem as i do.

 

So I've bought an Archer C2300, works fantastic, but only 4 port, meh.

So I had a new LS1005G switch, which is a plug-and-switch thing, in fact I don't know how to configure it.

 

Aaand sometimes in every hour, sometimes in every 5-10-20 minutes the C2300 drops the wired connections.

And the way, i can fix it: turn off the LS1005G SWITCH and turn it on again. Then everything works like charm.

 

So I have no idea, I even don't know which device is going wrong. The router drops the connections (all of them, not just the ones on the switch), but if I restart the switch everything works.

 

I checked the System Log, but there was no error message or anything. Do you gave any idea what is going on?

You can test if any of the devices connected to the switch, causing the issue by plugging in them one by one and observing the switch/router behaviour.

It could be many things, I am not certain about that, but it's worth checking as part of a troubleshooting.

You can approach this also like leaving only switch connected without any clients attached and observe.

@Ivaylo Okay, we are going deeper. The only way i can kill the network if two SONOS device is connected to the switch. Which led me to another topic @ SONOS' forum...

 

"Presumably you have another wired Sonos device. In that case wiring the Beam is almost certainly creating an undetected network loop, resulting in a broadcast storm. In the TP-Link switch you'll need to enable STP (not RSTP)."

Yeah, i have a SONOS Beam and another SONOS device.

It's funny, I've bought a switch which does not need configuration.

 

 

 

So I don't know. Sell the switch, get another?

Right, so yes - you'll need a smarter switch, probably an Easy Smart Switch like this will do the job.

I wonder, if you move one of the SONOS devices to the C2300 and leave the other one on the switch, will the broadcast storm appear again.
